Busy busy!

Sorry it's been a while since I've updated, it's been busy here! I usually work at least forty hours a week - they're keeping me busy!

The first couple of baby elk I was able to see. They are just the darnest things. The other day, in front of the dining room, we had a herd of elk wiith a good 9-12 calves. They would run back and forth, chasing birds. So cute!

The clouds were amazing. This is one of my favorite overlooks in the park. I don't quite know the name of it off the top of my head, I'll have to look it up, but the sky is always beautiful.

Stormfront again.

Bull moose in a pond! It's a little blurry - it was that time of the night when it's difficult to get a good picture because of the light. He was still pretty cool!

Clouds rolling in somewhere between Mammoth and Roosevelt.

Taken somewhere inbetween here and Roosevelt. He was just chillen off the road side.

Mama moose and baby. Click the picture for a bigger view - the baby is sitting to the left. Apparently, she was wounded a day before giving birth by a wolf - hopefully her and the calf make it!

Just pretty.

Snow in June!

We had snow today. I wish I was kidding. Went down to Jackson Hole yesterday and through the Grand Tetons. The Tetons are breath-taking. The road trip back kinda sucked - road work, fog, rain, and problems with my car - which I hope to sort out tomorrow. All is well though! Saw my moosen and baby moosen. I'll try and post pictures soon!

Already June!

I can't believe it's already June! Work is going really well. I haven't been able to get out and get any good pictures over the past week, but I heard there is a baby moose up in Pebble Creek that I want to go hunt down.

Went to Bozeman, MT on Thursday and Friday - ate at Dave's Sushi, Bob's Burgers, The Pita Pit, and Cosmic Pizza. Definitely a good time! Will try and update again soon!

Love and laughter,
Ashley

These were all taken in Lamar Valley, near the Northeast Entrance of the park. I got up really early last Saturday morning, around 4h30am, because I was told there was a moose that hung out around Pebble Creek. Guess what? There is! Apparently, a moose out there actually gave birth this past week - I hope to get up early and go see a baby moose! On the way back from Lamar, I looked over and saw an elk running. Now, I don't know if you know much about elk, but they usually don't run for no reason. It was in a no stopping zone due to a nearby wolf den, but I stopped anyway for a minute to check it out. I looked and the elk was actually CHASING the wolf! If I had been able to spend more time there I'm sure I would have seen the whole pack hunting the elk. Still, it was very cool. And the bison calves are everywhere and totally adorable. Remember, click on the pictures for a better view!
